Vote Mock Elections

” CMB” Training Center, in partnership with Hilswerk Austria in Moldova, implemented a new initiative for Moldova called “Vote Mock Elections” – project supported by the European Commission and co-financed by Austrian Development Agency during the year 2008.

Overall Objective of this project is capacity building and entailing cooperation amongst Moldovan NGOs into educating and mobilizing Moldovan voters to participate in the parliamentary elections 2009.

Additionally, the project looked at:

Specific Objectives:To develop and pilot a Mock Elections methodology in 6 district Centers and 12 rural communities with participation of 1800 community representatives and disseminate it on the national level through local NGOs.Target districts/regions of the project: Cimislia, Cantemir, Rezina, Ungehi, Soroca, Edinet.

Total number of those who participated at Mock Election exercises exceeded the initially planned target and reached 3179 of persons (initial figure 1800). Thus being an important project performance.

Another important outcome of the project is a Guidebook on “Decision making at the local level”, which is a practical instrument for Local Public Administration and local NGOs which are interested in promoting the participation of community members in decision making at the local level.
