Creating job opportunities for Youth
In the period of March 2002- November 2003, the ‶CMB” Training Center has implemented ‶Creating job opportunities for Young Women in Moldova” with the financial support of Democracy Commission Small Grants Program, US Embassy to Moldova.
The ‶Creating job opportunities for Young Women in Moldova” project aimed at supporting 200 Young women make active and informed decisions about their future careers.
The main objective of the project was to offer 200 young women the possibility to gain work experience while they were still students at various educational institutions from Moldova.
Background: Back in 2002/2003 Moldova encountered a large number of young women who were victims of human trafficking. On the other hand, like it is still today, many Young graduates of Moldovan Universities/colleges had difficulties in getting a job right after the graduation. This is because Moldovan employers require from the applicants at least 2-3 years of work experience when applying for a job. The paradox is that on one hand there is a requirement for having some work experience in order to get a new job, on the other hand, students were/are not given that many opportunities for getting work experience while still studying at the University/college.
The program provided opportunities for 200 Young women to gain work experience based on 3 models: volunteer activity, internship and paid jobs.
